Established in 1992 hope garden furniture is inspired and led by designs from the past that capture the spirit and essence of traditional artisanal fabrication.
The roots of hope’s production lie in the Traditional range, based on a collection of original wrought iron European garden furniture from the turn of the 20th century.
Manufactured utilising refurbished machinery from the 1950s they are hand assembled in the blacksmith tradition with hammer and anvil, by a small team of trained artisans.
The thin and tendril like forms belie their hidden strength that the carefully engineered forms give them.
Pared down and practical these design have been tried and tested for more than a century of use in tea rooms, pubs and beer gardens from Provence to Penzance.
For the past 33 years we have populated a great scope of the winelands’ establishments of Cape Town and surrounds, with these same designs.
