Our most popular chair is the Florence Chair, a refined, versatile chair suitable for outdoor dining. It can be spotted at many renowned Wine Tasting areas in the Cape Winelands, testament to its durability and complimentary to the historical architecture.

As with all chairs the Florence Chair is derived from European folding park chairs, easy to stack and store. It is also available with arms.

The folding frame is riveted and forged and a four part broad slatted, shaped wooden seat combines with a steam-bent double backrest for comfort.

Timber slats are secured to the metal frame with solid brass or stainless steel screws. The following timbers are available:

natural Karri

Karri is a hard dense, timber, light pinkish brown to dark brown in colour.
It assumes an attractive silver grey colour in approx.
6 months when left untreated and exposed to the elements.

natural Massaranduba

A hard-wearing timber that maintains its surface texture with age.
It has a natural deep rich, red colour, which eventually fades to a
desirable patinated grey with time.

painted Karri

Karri slats are also available in the following painted colours

Rust

Metal components are acid-dipped and left to oxidise (rust).
They are brushed down and coated with a wax sealer to prevent brush off marks.

NOTE: this finish will leave rust marks on paving and is not recommended for coastal situations.

Galvanised

Metal components are hot dip galvanised, but unpainted.
They are bright and silver when new, but soon assume a soft lead grey colour as they age.

This finish is recommended for furniture in close proximity to the sea.

Painted

Galvanised frames are also available in the following painted colours.

Painted frames are not recommended in close proximity to the sea.
