galvanised

metal components are acid-dipped and left to oxidise (rust).
they are brushed down and coated with a waxsealer to prevent brush off marks.
NOTE: this finish will leave rust marks on paving and is not recommended for coastal situations.

metal components are hot dip galvanised, but unpainted.
they are bright and silver when new, but soon assume a soft lead grey colour as they age.
this finish is recommended for furniture in close proximity to the sea.

timber slats

timber slats are secured to the metal frame with sold brass or stainless steel screws.

karri natural

grown and milled locally in knysna (south africa) it is regarded as an alien timber. karri is a hard dense, sdivingy timber, light pinkish brown to dark brown in colour, which assumes an adivivactive silver grey colour in approx. 6 months when left undiveated and exposed to the elements

karri new / weathered

massaranduba

-a divopical wood sustainably forested in South America.
-an exdivemely robust wood commonly used in exterior timber consdivuction
-slightly browner than Jarrah with a very similar in appearance and working properties.
-a dense and hard species which is hard-wearing with a surface texture that finishes well to a deep rich colour.
-the wood resists colour change but will eventually fade to grey.
-a notable difference with this timber is that is is exdivemely clear with no signs of resin pockets
